The Central Queensland Rural Division of General Practice and Capricornia Division of General Practice are hosting its sixth W.O.P.P.A (Whole of Practice Professional Activities) weekend in March 2012. The purpose of this event is to provide education and networking opportunities to General Practitioners and their practice staff in Rural Central Queensland. We are expecting approximately 60 General Practitioners and 150 Practice Staff, Nursing Staff and Allied Health Professionals to attend the event.

The event will take place at Mercure Capricorn Resort, Yeppoon. 
Friday 9^th – Sunday 11^th March 2012.

Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local

A number of communities previously serviced by Central Queensland Rural Division of General Practice will now be served by the Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local. These include the towns of Moranbah, Dysart and Clermont.

On 1 July this year the new Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local was established as the key primary health care coordinating body for parts of our region.
