This project is funded through the Department of Health and Ageing General Practice Immunisation Incentives (GPII) Scheme. The Division provides ongoing immunisation support and education to General Practitioners and their staff and encourages them to access services offered by the Division. The Division also works with other organisations to meet the immunisation needs of the community, working to increase access to immunisation to all rural communities and to promote immunisation as a preventative health measure for all members of these communities. The Division works closely with ACIR and Vivas to assist practices with transmitting and recording of immunisation data.
We also promote an environment of continuous improvement and ongoing education and training. Through visits the Division maintains contact with practices providing support for staff development, education and training, at all times ensuring services are in accordance with ethical and professional standards.
The Division received National Recognition for its Innovation in Immunisation in 2001.
