The Division actively supports Rural Rotations for the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland and James Cook University.  The University of Queensland place Students throughout the Division’s boundary for five rotations each year, both in General Practice and Hospital settings.  The Division has acquired and maintains a three bedroom residence in Emerald, which is well utilised by Medical Students during Rural Placements.

The residence in Egan Street is comfortably furnished and provides all the necessary household supplies including bedding and linen, crockery, cutlery, appliances and white goods.  The Division has recently installed a high speed wireless broadband internet service at the residence for the Students’ use.
